A valid Driver's License, issued in the country of residence, is required to rent a car. Photocopies, restricted licenses, provisional/learned licenses, or licenses valid for less than a year are usually not accepted by the suppliers.
Additionally, in some countries, an International Driving Permit (IDP) or International Driving License (IDL) is a requirement if the driver’s license is not in the Roman alphabet or could be a general requirement of the supplier as well.
