As the estimated time taken for the release of the security deposit depends on the car rental company, it is best to confirm the exact timeline through them while returning the vehicle. Generally, the deposit is released shortly after the rental is completed, but at times it may take up to a few weeks as well. In cases where the timeline has passed, directly contact your bank or the supplier.
Usually, you will not receive a notification in regards to the release of the deposit as typically there is no new transaction. So, checking your bank account before taking any further action is advised.
Note: Customers receive the security deposit in full unless the vehicle is damaged or had there been any unplanned charges during the rental period. The details of the charges are usually mentioned on the rental invoice provided at the end of the rental.
