What is a security deposit and why do I need to leave it when I arrive at the desk to collect the rental vehicle?

A security deposit is a specified refundable amount that is blocked on the main driver’s credit card by the supplier during pick-up as a warranty until the rented vehicle is returned.

The blocked amount will be used to cover all the additional charges that may incur during the rental period such as vehicle damage, traffic penalties, missing fuel, etc.

However, if you have returned the vehicle in its original condition with no damage & extra charges and followed the supplier’s Rental Terms, the security deposit amount will be released or refunded in full.

Note: Suppliers use the main driver’s credit card (as specified in the Rental Terms) to block the security deposit amount. The amount will be mentioned in the Rental Terms of each deal as well as your Rental Confirmation Voucher.
